Legal disclaimer and terms of sale

These terms apply to all products sold by IDoMods, including the MEB Battery Pre-Conditioning Kit, and to the installation service at our workshop in Aarhus. Please read them before you order. When you order, you confirm that you have read and accepted them.

In short

  • We are responsible for the product we deliver, and only for the product. We take no responsibility for your car.
  • This applies both when you install the kit yourself and when we install it for you at our workshop.
  • You install the kit, or have it installed, at your own risk and under your own full responsibility. If you install the kit yourself (DIY), this is entirely your own responsibility.
  • Our 1-year warranty covers the kit itself, never the car.
  • The vehicle manufacturer's own official warranty terms (for example Volkswagen's) still apply to your car. Fitting non-original parts may limit or void them.

1. General and non-OEM status

The products offered are aftermarket parts (modification parts). They are NOT original equipment manufacturer (OEM) components and are not produced, approved or sponsored by Volkswagen AG, Audi AG, SEAT/Cupra S.A., Škoda Auto or any other vehicle manufacturer using the MEB platform. Names, logos and model designations (such as Volkswagen ID.4, ID.5, ID. Buzz, Škoda Enyaq and Audi Q4 e-tron) are used strictly as references for vehicle compatibility.

2. Legality, inspection and type approval (Denmark and Scandinavia)

Many modification parts (including suspension components, wheel spacers, aerodynamics and software) can alter the structural and performance characteristics of the vehicle.

  • The buyer alone is responsible for making sure that installing and using the parts complies with applicable national legislation. This includes the Danish Road Traffic Act (Færdselsloven) and the detailed vehicle regulations in Denmark, as well as the equivalent regulations in Sweden (Transportstyrelsen) and Norway (Statens vegvesen).
  • Unless the product description explicitly says otherwise, the parts are supplied without TÜV approval or CE marking for public road use. Products without such approval are intended exclusively for track use, exhibitions or closed areas.
  • The buyer bears all responsibility and costs for any vehicle inspections (syn/godkjenning), registration updates or official approvals required by public authorities.

3. Responsibility for your vehicle

IDoMods is responsible only for the product delivered. We accept no responsibility for the vehicle it is fitted to, or for its condition, function, value or warranty status. This applies whether the kit is installed by you, by a third party or by IDoMods at our workshop.

The customer has full responsibility for the vehicle and installs the kit, or has it installed, at their own risk. Our installation service consists only of fitting the kit as described in the installation manual. It does not include any inspection, diagnosis, repair or guarantee of the vehicle.

4. Factory warranty and battery warranty (MEB / electric vehicles)

Installing non-original aftermarket parts may void or limit the vehicle manufacturer's factory warranty, in whole or in part. This includes the specific warranty covering the high-voltage battery (EV battery) and drivetrain. The seller disclaims any and all liability for warranty claims that the vehicle manufacturer or importer rejects because of the installation or use of our products.

The vehicle manufacturer's and importer's own official warranty terms always apply to your car. For Volkswagen cars sold in Denmark, the warrantor is Skandinavisk Motor Co. A/S. Their published warranty terms state, among other things, that:

  • The Volkswagen new-car warranty (2 years) does not cover defects caused by parts fitted in or on the car whose use has not been approved by Volkswagen AG or the warrantor, or by the car being modified in a way they have not approved (for example tuning).
  • Non-original add-ons and installations, and defects caused by them, are not covered. The same applies to accessories not fitted and/or supplied by the factory.
  • The high-voltage battery warranty (8 years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first) is subject to the same provisions as the new-car warranty.
  • The extended Volkswagen warranty for battery-electric cars (3 years or 150,000 km after the factory warranty, for cars delivered after 1 December 2024) excludes retrofitted equipment and accessories that are not part of the car's original build, and non-original installations. It also excludes defects that arise from incorrect fitting or from parts whose use has not been approved by Volkswagen or the warrantor.
  • Warranty claims can be refused if the car has been repaired, maintained or treated incorrectly, or if a manufacturer software update has not been installed.

Read Volkswagen's full and current warranty terms at volkswagen.dk/garanti. For Škoda, Audi and other brands, the manufacturer's and importer's own warranty terms apply in the same way. Check them before installing the kit.

5. Installation and high-voltage safety

The MEB platform consists of advanced electric vehicles (EVs) with high-voltage systems (400 V and above).

  • We recommend that the kit is installed by IDoMods at our workshop, by an authorized workshop, or by a qualified technician with documented experience of working on electric vehicles (for example relevant EV certification or high-voltage safety credentials).
  • If you buy the kit only and install it yourself (DIY), or have it installed by someone else, you do so entirely at your own responsibility and risk.
  • The seller cannot be held liable for personal injury or property damage, including electric shock, short circuits or thermal runaway (battery fires), caused by incorrect installation, mishandling or insufficient safety precautions during installation.

6. Electronic integration, CAN bus and battery warranty

The product works by communicating directly with the vehicle's electronic networks (CAN bus / CAN FD) to request battery temperature regulation.

  • Warranty implications: The buyer acknowledges that connecting third-party electronic hardware to the vehicle's communication networks, or modifying factory wiring harnesses, may permanently void the manufacturer's original vehicle warranty and the 8-year/160,000 km high-voltage battery warranty. The seller accepts no responsibility for denied warranty claims.
  • Software updates: Vehicle manufacturers frequently issue over-the-air (OTA) or dealer-installed software updates. The seller does not guarantee that the product will remain compatible with future vehicle software versions, and is not liable for loss of compatibility or system errors caused by factory updates.

7. 1-year product warranty

We give a 1-year warranty on the kit itself against defects in materials and workmanship, counted from the date of delivery.

  • If the kit develops a covered defect, we will repair or replace it, or refund the purchase price of the kit, at our choice.
  • The warranty covers the kit only. It never covers the vehicle, other parts of the vehicle, installation or removal costs, or consequential damage.
  • The warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect installation, misuse, accidents, modification of the kit or normal wear.
  • To make a claim, contact us with your order number and a description of the fault.

8. 30-day satisfaction guarantee

If you are not satisfied with the kit, you can return it within 30 days of delivery and get the purchase price of the kit refunded.

  • The kit must be returned complete and undamaged, with all parts and the installation manual.
  • IDoMods pays the return shipping. Contact us before returning the kit and we will arrange the return.
  • The installation fee is not refunded once the installation has been carried out, and it is not refunded for no-shows.

9. Limitation of liability

Under no circumstances shall the seller be liable for any indirect loss, consequential damage, loss of earnings, loss of data in the vehicle's software, towing costs, rental car expenses or workshop labour fees associated with the installation, troubleshooting or removal of the parts. The seller's total cumulative liability shall never exceed the original purchase price of the product.

10. Your statutory rights

These terms apply to the extent permitted by applicable law. They do not limit your mandatory rights as a consumer, including your right to complain about defects under the Danish Sale of Goods Act (købeloven) and your 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases. They do not limit liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for personal injury caused by gross negligence or intent.
