Why doesn't VW offer this itself?
VW introduced built-in battery pre-conditioning on models from 2024. Earlier cars already have a battery heater, but no way to switch it on before fast charging. The kit gives you that button.
How do I know the battery is warm?
The LED on the push button shows when the battery has reached the optimal temperature for fast charging.
How long does installation take?
Installation usually takes about 30 minutes. You can also have us install it at our workshop in Hæst for 400 kr. Choose installation when you order and book a time that suits you.
Do I need a USB cable? Does it look neat?
No cable needed. The kit runs on the car's 12 V system and comes in a finished housing. It includes a push button that matches the interior or exterior colours of your car.
How fast is delivery?
1–3 days when the kit is in stock. Up to two weeks when it's out of stock.
Who develops the kit?
All hardware and software is developed in-house. IDoMods owns all rights to the hardware and software.
Do I need it if I charge at home overnight?
A cold battery charges slowly at fast chargers, because the car limits the charging power to protect it. Pre-heating warms the battery on the way, so you get full speed when you plug in. When you charge at home overnight it makes little difference. It matters on road trips and whenever you fast charge in winter.
